GoLove vs HeraHaven: one gate, then everything
HeraHaven's only barrier before the product is an age confirmation. Login and register stay optional in the header after that.

What HeraHaven asks and what it opens
The first thing HeraHaven presents is a user verification panel: confirm you agree to the terms and privacy policy and are at least eighteen, or the age of majority where you live. One click.
Past it, the navigation is the product rather than a brochure — explore, generator, chat, saved, videos, plus girlfriend, anime and boyfriend categories and an affiliate link. Login and register sit in the header as options, not as gates.
The boyfriend category is worth flagging because much of this category does not have one. If you are not shopping for an AI girlfriend specifically, that narrows the field quickly.
- One age confirmation, then the product
- Explore, generator, chat, saved, videos
- Girlfriend, anime and boyfriend categories
- Login and register optional
GoLove's entry, measured the same way
GoLove's entry link does not show an age panel before the product either — the ToS acceptance is carried in the link, and you land in the explore view with a session already created.
So both are at the open end of this category. The difference is one click, which matters less than the fact that neither makes you register to look.

Scope is where they separate
Both carry chat plus generation, so the feature lists read similarly. The visible differences are that HeraHaven publishes a boyfriend category and an anime track as first-class sections, and that GoLove carries a series section and live streams that HeraHaven's public navigation does not show.
If you want a male companion or anime-styled characters as the main event rather than a sub-option, that is a concrete reason to look at HeraHaven first — and it is the kind of difference that no price comparison would have surfaced.
Neither tells you the price
Both sit in the group that publishes no public pricing. Only Candy AI and DreamGF, of the eleven apps we checked, let you read a figure before registering.
Given both are free to look at, the practical move is to spend ten minutes in each and let the writing and the catalogue decide, then find out what it costs once you know which one you would actually use.
Why a single age gate is the right amount of friction
There is a defensible reason for the one click HeraHaven asks for. An adult product has to make some statement about who it is for, and a single confirmation does that without collecting anything. Nothing is stored about you beyond a local flag, and no identifier changes hands.
Compare that with the two patterns on either side of it. A product with no gate at all pushes the compliance question onto the operator entirely. A product that demands registration first collects an email, a consent decision and usually a marketing relationship before it has shown you anything — a much larger extraction dressed up as the same formality.
So the question is not whether an app asks, but what it asks for. HeraHaven asks you to assert something. Character AI asks you to become a record. Those are different transactions and it is worth noticing which one you are in.
